Its getting to be that time again! The Nominations and Elections committee is now accepting nominations of candidates for office for the positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, and Recording Secretary. If you are interest in serving as an officer of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, you must be a current dues paying member. The Bylaws provide:
any member who has not paid his or her dues is a member not in good standing. Only members who have paid their annual dues and any late fee, if applicable, on or before November 1 of the calendar year are members in good standing and entitled to vote on Association matters.
Additionally, only members in good standing are eligible for election to office. The President-Elect and Treasurer must each be an active member in good standing for at least three (3) consecutive years and have served on a standing committee for at least two (2) years. The deadline for all nominations is the close of business on Monday, November 2, 2009. Elections will be held at our November 19, 2009 meeting. Election winners and any candidate who is unopposed by the close of business on November 2, 2009, will assume office beginning December 1, 2009. Candidates for office should submit an application to Committee Chair M. Andree Green Checkley at andree.green@ppd.mncppc.org. Please contact Ms. Checkley at 301-952-4501 if you have questions.
