JFB
was established in 1977 to advance the status of African-American lawyers
in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties. Over 300 attorneys are affiliated
with the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association.
Collectively, we aspire to uphold our Mission Statement:
Insures
the continuation of African-Americans in the legal profession.
Defends,
protects and assists in the cultural, economic social and political
development of the African-American communities through the vehicle
of the law.
Educates
the general public about the rights, responsibilities and legal issues
through continuing legal education which are relevant to the African-American
communities.
Safeguards
and preserves the historical continuation of African-American attorneys
in Montgomery and Prince Georges's counties.
Assists
lawyers by conducting continuing legal education programs relevant
to the African-American community.
