STUDENTS: START PREPARING YOUR ORATIONS NOW!
The J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association invites all Prince George's and Montgomery County high school students to compete in the Association's annual Oratorical Contest! The event will be held virtually on Sunday February 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for scholarship awards totaling in $3,250.
First Place: $1,500
Second Place: $1,000
Third Place: $750
Topic: Contestants, following a long hard fought election, you are President of the United States of America. Now that you are in office, speak to your thoughts on whether or not you will be able to unify the Country in your first 100 days. Is it possible?
To be eligible, applicants must be high school juniors or seniors attending school or residing in either Prince George's or Montgomery County.
Applications and information sheet may be downloaded below and must be submitted no later than February 19, 2021. (Applications are limited to the first twelve (12) Applicants with standby applicants accepted!!)
Applications MUST be submitted with an outline of the applicant's speech (50 word minimum).
